Abstract :
In this paper, linearized mathematical models of a type of missile are established on a series of representative points chosen from a typical trajectory of a missile. Upon a tremendous amount of numerical calculation and analysis of the obtained data, some facts are discovered which are important to robust control system design. A knowledge base for the design of non-minimal phase control systems is built on the basis of calculation and analysis of one thousand non-minimal phase systems. A new approach is then presented to the design of robust control system. It inherits the advantages of the "optimization of parametrized desired eigenloci" method, but is applicable to non-minimal phase plants. The controller designed by this method not only guarantees system stability, dynamic performance, robustness and controller stability, but also has a structure much simpler than what the H/sub /spl infin// approach and /spl mu/- approach might give.<>
