Abstract
The cubic nonlinear theory of multiharmonic interactions of space charge waves (SCW) in the superheterodyne free electron laser (FEL) amplifier-section with a longitudinal electrostatic undulator is constructed. The lengths and levels of wave saturation were determined. The conditions under which there is a multiharmonic SCW amplification with a wide frequency range without distortion is found out.
