Abstract
This paper proposes the study of outphasing systems using the MILC architecture in the context of adaptive MQAM radio transmitters. We show that an adaptive MILC amplifier can provide considerable performance gain in efficiency and linearity when compared to the classical LINC architecture and to a standard class B amplifier. The results are validated for QPSK, 16 QAM and 64 QAM signals using a RRCF with a roll-off factor of 0.2. The amplifiers used are based on realistic class B devices available in CAD simulators.
