Abstract :
To analyze the internal faults, the multi loop model of synchronous generators, based on the multi loop method, is introduced in this paper. Using this model, the main protection configuration schemes for two 135 MW generators and two 700 MW three gorges generators with different stator winding arrangements are analyzed in detail. These design examples reveal that the main protection configuration scheme must be based on the analysis and simulation of possible slot and end faults.
