Abstract :
The paper presents a new algorithm used for complex fault analysis within power system. It is suitable to various forms of the faults, especially to the fault of the combination of series and shunt faults with asymmetrical fault impedance. The algorithm is simple, flexible, and easy to understand. It supplies an effective computing tool for setting the protective relay of a power system. Object-oriented programming makes the program construction more clear and facilitates maintenance and extension.
