Abstract
This paper presents the approach taken by GINTIC in implementing an information system for the experimental printed circuit board assembly facility (EPCBAF). It begins with a brief description of the information architecture, hardware and network communication configurations and the process flow. It then discusses the control strategy and functional modules at the shop floor area. The data flow among the functional modules during various production phases, the information processed and/or generated and the control of this information are described in detail.<>
