  • Abstract
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is an effective technique for high bit rate applications in wireless communication systems. Many researches have been carried out to improve OFDM efficiency. Advantages of OFDM system make this technique as the most favorable modulation scheme for digital audio and video broadcasting in Europe. Unfortunately OFDM has the drawback of potentially high peak to average power ratio (PAPR). In this paper we propose a new technique based on selective branch for reducing peak-to-average power ratio in OFDM systems. This new method uses BCH code, Interleaving and also Rapp´s power amplifier model. In this technique it is not necessary to transmit side information to receiver for recovering original data. It is shown that in most situations this proposed technique also improves the effective bit error rate (BER).
