Abstract :
Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant faced AC auxiliary performance issues from load growth and needs to power new loads for an extended power uprate. Adding a generator breaker to each unit provided an additional source of offsite power to supply the large balance of plant motors without adversely impacting the ability of the existing offsite source to power the safety related loads required to mitigate a design basis accident.
