Abstract :
A new concept of volumetric calibrator has been recently introduced for the in-situ calibration of flow meter in laboratory. The calibration method, that uses a volumetric measuring tank along with a small volumetric calibrator, is basically a further advancement in the volumetric calibration method that is one of the absolute methods used for calibration of flow measuring devices. This paper describes the technique of automation of this volumetric calibrator using RS-485 / MODBUS protocol as an improvement over the usual manual calibration. Automation makes the calibration not only faster but more accurate too.
