Abstract
Brazil holds a lead position in renewable energy production and distributed generation. The economic growth of the country in the recent years is pulling up the electricity consumption and accelerating the installed generation capacity in the electric power system. This paper discusses the current scenario of distributed and renewable generation in Brazilian electricity sector as well as the potential for increasing sustainable sources in the future.
