Abstract :
In this paper, the performance analysis of MIMO WLAN systems employing uniform circular array under different realistic channels is investigated. WLAN devices are typically deployed indoors, thus channel models that matches the realistic office or residential environments were studied and carefully modeled. The developed channel model is based on the cluster modeling approach, where tap-dependent and cluster-dependent angular and power properties are characterized. Based on these parameters, comparative study of the link performance for different geometries and conditions is presented. The effect of existence of line of sight (near/far effect) and optimum power allocations for different sub-channels are also studied.
