Abstract :
Induction heated rotating steel cylinders are mainly used in paper-making, textile and chemical industry. Low emissivity and moving surface are the main difficulty of temperature measurement in this kind of devices. In the paper the real-size induction heated rotating steel cylinder has been described. Additionally, it has been used to investigating the possibility of using the infra-red thermocouples to non-contact temperature measurement. The influence of emissivity varying for temperature readings has been described and the methods of reduction disadvantageous phenomenon has been proposed.
