Abstract
This paper presents the derivation, design, and evaluation of an adaptive controller for an HVDC transmission system. The control strategy is to minimize the variance between outputs and set points. The controller parameters are directly estimated from input-output data by a simple recursive algorithm. Interesting results from both digital simulation and laboratory simulators are presented.<>
