Abstract
By analyzing the dark current noise of photomultiplier tube (PMT) and the thermal noise of feedback resistor, the detection limit of the processing circuit in the microarray scanner is calculated theoretically, and the saturated signal of that is obtained by the anode radiant sensitivity of the PMT under optimized gain. The dynamic range is the saturated signal divided by the detection limit, which is 8773 in theory. The experiment result was acquired after scanning a fluorescent calibration slide by the scanner, which was 4096.
