Abstract :
This paper presents a method for optimal placement of sectionalisers in overhead distribution networks to reduce nondistributed energy (NDE) by permanent faults. The proposed algorithm starts by describing an effective numbering method to determine the topology of the distribution network. Then a method is described for optimal placement and number of sectionalisers in the network. Both voltage type and current type sectionalisers are considered. The validity of the presented method is tested for a typical Iranian network.
