Abstract :
Two methods for practically implementing 3-level PWM sampling schemes for a 12-device inverter bridge are presented. They offer advantages of reducing the computational requirements for implementing them, as well as the ability of programming wider PWM pulses into a microprocessor. Wider PWM pulses result in a more accurate practical representation of the PWM waveform. One scheme offers the additional advantage of reduced potential shift between system neutral and load star points. The benefits gained are at the expense of an error introduced to the harmonic spectra. Graphical and tabulated results are shown.<>
