Abstract
The paper introduces a practical (analytical) nonlinear (iterative) main field model (AIM) directly attachable to the three phase induction motor industrial design tools. The two dimensional model divides the motor cross section into five circular domains. The slotting domains are homogenized and characteristic magnetic permeabilities for each domain are defined. The calculated magnetization characteristic and, respectively, core losses are fully validated by tests on no load and on load for a batch of induction motors from 0.7 kW to 45 kW
