Abstract
In this paper, diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) of two-user interference channels with source cooperation is studied. A DMT upper bound is derived based on a capacity upper bound. The tightness of the upper bound is evaluated using an achievable DMT derived from a decode-and-forward (DF) based cooperation scheme. We show that in some channel scenarios, the upper bound can be achieved by the DF-based cooperation. This indicates that for those channel scenarios, the derived upper bound is indeed the optimal DMT of the channel, and this optimal DMT can be achieved by the DF-based cooperation scheme.
