Abstract :
Fault management in distribution networks is one of the most challenging and at least the most visible task of the utilities. From the customer point of view the power cut means at least harm but in many cases also costs, which may be tens of times greater than the cost of delivered energy. The fault management process consists of several sub-tasks: fault location, fault isolation and service restoration, trouble call management and outage reporting. The paper presents practical aspects on the development of distribution network fault location and overall management of faults.
