  • Abstract
It is shown how ice data collected from various remote sensors: Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (NOAA AVHRR), STAR-2 aircraft Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Dash-7 Side-Looking Airborne Radar (SLAR) and the European Space Agency satellite (ERS-1 SAR) are integrated by Ice Centre´s forecasters to prepare ice charts and analyses. Selected examples from the 1992-93 winter season over Eastern Canadian waters especially over the Gulf of St. Lawrence depict the strengths and weaknesses of each sensor
