Abstract
Regarding the emission limits mainly applied for microwave ovens emission above 1 GHz in CISPR 11, it has been proposed in CISPR B to delete the peak limits and only to use the weighted (a kind of average) limits for a compliance test. This proposal also suggests improving the weighted measurement instead of deleting the peak limits for avoiding interference problems between microwave ovens emission and wireless communications systems, however, no interference studies has been provided for a consideration whether the proposal is still appropriate. In this study, interference experiments have been performed to evaluate a degradation of satellite broadcasting interfered by microwave ovens emission that conforms weighted limit but does not conform peak limits. Contrary to the proposal, experimental results indicate the necessity to remain the peak limits and weighted limits are not enough for protection of satellite broadcasting. Further studies will be provided by evaluating C/N ratio of satellite broadcasting signal in the final version.
