  • Abstract
    Carrier Aggregation is one of the most important LTE-A features, and different CA scenarios had been proposed. As LTE-Advanced receivers should support both wideband and narrowband transmission in CA scenarios, it would be of good significance to clarify, for different LTE-A receiver structures, which transmission mode is more power efficient. In this paper we present and discuss three potential UE receiver structures, and make a detailed comparison of power consumption for different structures in two parts-RF ends part and ADC part, numerical calculation of power consumption is also given. We propose power consumption should be taken into consideration in relative downlink transmission and give an example based on our conclusion in the end.
