Abstract :
The ever-growing demand of higher data rates is pushing the modern wireless communication systems towards millimeter wave frequency band (30-300 GHz). At these frequencies the available bandwidth is much larger, resulting into increased data rates. Thus, there is a growing demand of efficient antennas operating at these high frequencies. This paper deals with the design of linear and planar resonant antennas at 38 GHz. Design is based on Elliot´s formulation. HFSS (high frequency structure simulator) is used to simulate and tune the slot dimensions. Simulated and measured results are in good agreement.
