Abstract :
This paper includes a brief review to the problem of human exposure to electromagnetic fields and the standards and regulations developed in order to protect people from the non-ionizing radiations caused by electromagnetic fields with special interest to the 2004/40/CEE, 2008/46/EC and 2012/11/EU Directives in working environments. The measurements and techniques used to comply with regulations are described in detail and an example of a facility including a 420V, 1800 kW induction furnace with magnetic field leakage at the working frequency of 10 kHz is described.
