Abstract :
Enhanced wireless network can provide precise positioning for the civilian aircrafts. The paper utilized the relationship between integrated Doppler and range rate in the wireless network to position the aircrafts as the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) or Local Area Augmentation System (LASS), but without help of satellites. It established a self-calibration model and solved the unknown parameters with iterative least squares. The simulated results reveal the perfect accuracy in decimeter level and high dynamic. Improvement has been achieved by extended kalman filter. The improved method eliminates the disadvantages before, retains the positioning accuracy and the aircrafts´ high dynamic. The system built in the paper can meet Category II´s (one criteria for aircraft landing) accuracy requirements with a low dilution of precision (DOP).
