Abstract
Passive microwave radiometer measurements of Chinese Bouhai Sea ice cover were made with NOAC HJ-01 airborne system to research the capability of passive microwave remote sensing of the sea ice distribution. The system includes multichannel microwave radiometer (1.4, 3.9, 5.4, 36 GHz), color infrared spectrometer and visible camera. This paper presents the relationship of microwave brightness temperature and sea ice thickness. For improving the spatial resolution the authors have been developing an interferometric synthesis microwave radiometer
