Abstract
A self-organising auto-consistent framework for instrumentation software development and execution is proposed. Data consistency is maintained automatically by tagging data with their time of calculation. Calculations happen only on request and redundant calculations are avoided. The framework even offers possibilities for automatic optimisation. A prototype has been developed to illustrate the applicability of the proposed scheme. A simple VXI-based network analyser was implemented in the prototype environment
