Abstract :
A novel routing architecture that balances Internet flows over the Agile All-Photonic Network (AAPN) is proposed. It is based on the adaptive Highest Random Weight (adaptive HRW) algorithm proposed to design load balanced Internet routers. The architecture extends the adaptive HRW algorithm with a minimal flow remapping selection scheme that identifies those source-destination edge node pairs whose flow traffic is causing imbalance in the network and need to adapt their weights. Simulation results shows significant reduction in the amount of flows remapped compared to the no selection scheme where all source-destination edge node pairs are forced to adapt their weights when imbalance is detected in the network.
