Abstract :
In this paper, the demagnetization field is determined from a spin-stand technique. However, we have found that the theoretical models cannot be accurately applied to perpendicular media. Therefore a new analysis is introduced and the results are compared with analytical calculations. All experiments are performed on a Guzik spin-stand tester using a longitudinal head trimmed into a single-pole head and a multilayered medium with a soft underlayer.
