Abstract :
The microwave signals having high rate will be affected more by the propagation factors. Majorly due to variation of atmospheric conditions the signal distortion will takes place. In this paper we observed various factors on which the signal degradation depends and also we calculated the attenuation due to these parameters. The estimation efficiency will be low when the signal strength degrades. The power losses were also observed with respect to frequency. As the frequency increases, the power margins of a communication link will change. The parameters such as precipitation, clouds, fog, etc. are responsible for the atmospheric attenuation. In addition to these parameters, the multipath at low elevation angles is also responsible for the attenuation. All of these losses due to the atmosphere at microwave range is been evaluated.
