Abstract :
In this paper an intelligent research and development (R&D) environment of different CSM (Competitive Sustainable Manufacturing) projects of the Department of Production Engineering (TTE) of Tampere University of Technology (TUT) is presented. The R&D environment will collect a wide variety of research projects and their results together. The research environment simulates an actual factory, which operates according to the CSM philosophy and where the project research topics can be developed and analyzed. The development of the R&D environment was started in 2009 by the FMS 2010 and Pisa projects. The first version of the environment was introduced in connection with the “Tampere Manufacturing Summit 2009” event. The future work and development of the environment will be done by CSM projects of the TTE and KIPPcolla project in cooperation with TTE´s Laser Application Laboratory (LAL).
