Abstract
This paper presents a new model of lexical-semantic representation of the lexicon which is intended for use in word sense disambiguation and semantic representation of text. It is usage-based, and part of it can be created automatically from an electronic dictionary. Although there remains more work to be done, the current model is provided with both syntactic and semantic contexts in which words occur, and thus effective in word sense disambiguation and the semantic representation of text. Drawing on XML technology, and designed in a simple data structure, it would be easy to implement and extend the lexicon computationally.
