  • Abstract
    The SNR transfer characteristic band of the extrinsic value in the turbo decoding is proposed. The proposed method can explain the bimodal Gaussian average histogram of the extrinsic value in the waterfall region of the finite length turbo decoding. The proposed method is also useful to discuss the probabilistic convergence behavior of the finite length turbo decoding as well as the wide waterfall region in the BER performance curve.
