Abstract :
The space-time reverberation model (STRM) for active sonar array, which uses the distribution of scatters in space and the superposition of echoes of scatters, is presented in this paper. This approach is applicable to arbitrary transmission waveforms, and incorporats many factors which influence the reverberation, such as the parameters of transmission signal, the motion of the platform, the ocean environment. By comparing the characteristics of Space-time Coupling Spectrum (STCS) and Probability Density Distribution (PDD) of the simulated reverberation with that of the real reverberation, the validity of the model is proved.
