Abstract :
The paper reports a compact diode-pumped Tm:KYW laser with a cavity length of 12 mm passively Q-switched with a PbS QDs-based SA. The variation of SA transmission and pump power allows to achieve Q-switched pulses with minimum duration of 15 ns, repetition rate up to 85 kHz and output power of 130 mW. The maximum Q-switching conversion efficiency was estimated to be 60%.
