Abstract
We have analysis the performance of Radio over Fiber (RoF) systems based on brillouin -assisted carrier phase shift. Carrier Phase Shifter (CPS) systems, which induces Phase shift on Phase modulated optical carrier signal. This is based on Brillouin - assisted carrier phase shift of the phase modulated signal. By adjusting the phase shift of the optical carrier while preserving its amplitude unchanged. The main advantage of the proposed method lies in its broadband nature because the SBS is only imported on the optical carrier and the phase modulated sidebands are not affected as long as the modulating frequency is higher than brillouin bandwidth. Therefore the proposed approach works for broadband microwave frequency as low as the brillouin band width to arbitrarily high frequency, which is limited by the bandwidth of the optical transmitter and receiver.
