Abstract
In the last few years there has been significant work going on for development and deployment of IP multimedia subsystem. There has been several usage scenarios described in a number of work so far. Most of them have been concentrated towards delivery of services for mobile users. However, there have been very few usage scenarios explored in industrial and enterprise domain. There has been some work done so far, although not to a great extent, in the sphere of sensor applications working over IMS. IMS if used for industrial applications can be another revenue generating source for the network operators. This paper surveys current work being done on this subject and describes one possible deployment scenario.
