Abstract
The basic requirements to process all modes of Radarsat data will be met by the low risk, flexible baseline Canadian Data Processing Facility (CDPF), to be implemented as an upgrade to the existing Canadian ERS-1 facility at the Gatineau Satellite Station (GSS). The FASTSCAN system is also under development to process Radarsat data. Its main function is to process and display (as a moving window) all Radarsat data received from the downlink in real-time, with degraded image quality and resolution. This system will also evaluate received data quality. Other important optional system functions are of potential benefit to the reception and archiving of Radarsat data, in particular: the registration of all received and processed imagery onto a quicklook recorder, the extraction of catalogue information with data quality, and the generation of Radarsat ScanSAR products
