Abstract
An inexpensive, programmable imaging spectrometer for airborne remote sensing applications was designed and built during 1992. The instrument operates in the wavelength range 450-900 nm that is divided into 286 channels. The number of spatial pixels is 384. The first test flights with the instrument were performed at the beginning of 1993. The paper discusses the design and performance of the instrument together with the results from the first test flights
