Abstract :
A straightforward time-domain imaging technique for shape reconstruction of both impenetrable and penetrable objects is described. For a class of finite-duration incident waveforms, the ramp cross-sectional area function is recovered from the radar signature of a target through the stable integration procedure. The results presented in this paper can be readily applied to identification of targets from their radar signatures directly in time domain. A number of illustrative examples is presented.
