Abstract :
In order to supply power to Olympic Games in 2008, OWTS(Oscillating Wave Test System) was introduced to Beijing. Many tests proved that OWTS is an effective way to find faults in 10kV cable joints that are newly installed. In 2011 Beijing Electric Power Corporation detected the state of 10kV cable lines sent by Power Supply Company in Beijing with OWTS(oscillating wave test system). We disassemble 10kV cable joints and found that Partial Discharge exceeded. We found many faults in 10kV cable joints, then analyzed 4 major factors that can influence the quality of cable joints in details, and made suggestions for revision.
