Abstract
This paper is concerned with digital modulation for satellite radio services. For the initial synchronization, the special synchro-signal (preamble) is proposed. The reduction time in the initial synchronization in a coherent digital receiver is important for the mobile and satellite communication, i.e. LEO systems. This paper shows that the parallel calculation of the RF carrier frequency and phase errors, bit-clock delay and the start point of the information signals by means of the special preamble processing is a way of handling the task. The structure of the proposed preamble, which consists of two linear frequency modulated signals, is presented. Mathematical proofs of the proposed method for high-speed initial synchronization are given. Requirements for the preamble parameters are defined and processing procedures are clarified
