Abstract
The method of retrieval of the slab optical characteristics (phase function, single scattering albedo) on the basis of the radiation reflected by a uniform atmosphere and underlying surface at the level of its lower boundary was developed. This method is based on the representation of the angle structure of the reflected radiation with the help of classical Ambarzumian´s functions and on the exploration of some exact integral formulae of radiative transfer theory. The estimates are made of the stability and the errors of the given method
