Abstract
The atmospheric pollution of an industrial area is possible by making use of MOS-1 (Marine Observation Satellite-1) MESSR (Multispectral Electronic Self Scanning Radiometer) images. The CCT count data acquired at places where many industrial chimneys exist on the map show a peculiar feature on the two-dimensional distribution plane where the ratio of CCT counts oftwo appropriate bands are plotted. As a conspicuous example, the MOS-1 image of northern area of Kyushu Island has been selected whose data was received from the satellite at the Tokai Space Information Center on May 20, 1993
