Abstract :
The authors have investigated the frequency noise properties of commercial free-running singlemode quantum cascade laser (QCL) emitting in the 4.6-μm wavelength range and operated in continuous wave mode near room temperature. Using the side of a molecular absorption line in standard single pass direct absorption spectroscopy, the frequency noise measurement was performed by converting the laser frequency fluctuations into intensity fluctuations.
