Abstract
This paper presents a hybrid method which combines the method of moments with Fock (1965) currents, the latter being applicable to perfectly conducting, curved convex surfaces. As compared to the physical optics (PO) approximation these Fock currents should be preferred as they are continuous across the shadow boundary and nonzero in the shadowed parts of the scattering body. This hybrid formulation in connection with some corrections of the PO approximation leads to a very powerful tool for the analysis of a wide variety of electromagnetic radiation and scattering problems. The accuracy of the hybrid formulation has been demonstrated by determining the radiation patterns of a number of antennas
