Abstract
A simple radar model of a tank target which includes the polarization properties is presented. The model is limited to monostatic radar. The backscattering mechanism is based on multiple reflection in plane surfaces and calculated with simple methods front physical optics. The model is composed of several spatially distributed scatterers to represent a tank target at millimetre wavelengths. The scatterers are of two generic reflector types with two or three bounces for retroreflection. The analysis and the presentation of the polarization properties are based on the theory of null-polarizations and the polarization “fork” parameters
