Abstract
In this paper, a novel class of semiconductor laser has demonstrated the capability of generating sub 100-fs pulses free from phase structure in a circular diffraction-limited beam. These lasers readily achieve pulse repetition frequencies >;100 GHz and have potential for power-scaling .
