Abstract
This paper compares two sets of power flow equations: a set of conventional power flow equations and a set of power flow equations based on Tellegen´s theorem. The comparison is limited to distribution power networks and is based on local performance. Nevertheless this is an important situation, as for planning purposes distribution networks require thousands of power flow analyses. Based on Tellegen´s power flow equations a local model is presented. Numerical examples provided show a high accuracy level of this local model results. On the contrary, results presented for a local modal based in conventional power flow equations are very inaccurate.
