Abstract :
Automatic meter reading (AMR) system is the important components of smart grid. State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) plan to established an AMR which can cover 200 million energy consumer till 2015, this system can help SGCC to realize the target “Full coverage, collection, full-fee control” in its operational region, the reliable communication channel construction is a premise to achieve this goal. Until now, low success ratio influences the Comprehensiveness and completeness of data and hardly supports the implement of real time price. In addition, few of the smart meter can realize both-way communication and there´s a long way to the core concept of the AMI system. With the Long-term tracking studies, the communication mode play an key role besides the poor performances of the main station and acquisition equipments. In this paper, we suggested that optical fiber and high-speed wireless 230MHz private network technologies should be given the priorities, GPRS/CDMA public network can be used as the supplementary means to cover the power users of remote region and beyond the coverage domain of private network. In the local channel, the convergence of different schemes is positive to get ride of the influences caused by Random interference of the channel and environmental change.
